On September 4th, the "Conference on Sustainable Science and Industry" grandly opened in Guiyang. As a co-organizer, the National Key Laboratory for Green and Efficient Development and Utilization of Phosphate Ore and Its Associated Resources (hereinafter referred to as the "Key Laboratory") was invited to attend. It joined academicians, experts from top domestic and international institutions such as the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the University of Oxford, as well as industry representatives, to discuss cutting-edge paths for driving industrial green transformation through interdisciplinary integration.

    The following day, a delegation consisting of experts and scholars from the University of Oxford, the University of Leeds, and Queen's University Belfast in the UK, along with domestic entrepreneurs, visited the Key Laboratory and conducted a highly fruitful exchange activity. This exchange aimed to strengthen scientific research cooperation between China and the UK in the field of phosphate chemical industry and related areas, promote technological innovation and industrial upgrading, and inject new impetus into the sustainable development of the global phosphate chemical industry.

    The National Key Laboratory for Green and Efficient Development and Utilization of Phosphate Ore and Its Associated Resources of Guizhou Phosphate Chemical Group is the only national key laboratory in China's phosphate chemical industry. Since its approval for construction, it has deeply carried out basic research on the utilization of phosphate ore and its associated resources, tackled key problems in major transformative technologies, and promoted the transformation and application of achievements. It is committed to providing referenceable solutions for the green and low-carbon development of China's phosphate chemical industry.

    The delegation gained an in-depth understanding of the Key Laboratory's latest scientific research achievements in fields such as phosphate ore mining and beneficiation, efficient utilization of phosphate and its associated resources, and comprehensive utilization of phosphogypsum. According to the introduction, the Key Laboratory has long focused on China's three major strategic needs—food security, ecological security, and strategic emerging industries—and has carried out applied basic research on phosphate chemistry and the utilization of associated fluorine resources, as well as tackled key problems in major transformative technologies, achieving a series of major technological breakthroughs. The delegation spoke highly of these achievements. They stated that these results not only demonstrate the high sense of responsibility of Chinese scientific research institutions and enterprises towards environmental protection and resource recycling but also provide valuable experience for the green development of the global phosphate chemical industry.

    During the exchange, the two sides also had in-depth discussions on common technological challenges and future development trends in the phosphate chemical field. This visit has built a new platform and created new opportunities for further deepening scientific and technological cooperation in the phosphate chemical field. It is expected to promote the two sides to achieve more practical cooperation results and make greater contributions to the sustainable development of the global phosphate chemical industry.
